Himatangi Beach

Himatangi Beach Holiday Park is situated on the west coast of the lower North Island, New Zealand. We are approximately seven kilometres from State Highway One, half an hour from Palmerston North and two hours north of Wellington. We are the perfect spot to stop at after doing the Tongariro Crossing, or before sailing Cook Strait on the inter-island ferry, or to just get away from it all. Our park is three hundred metres from the wild rugged beach, where you can check out the rustic driftwood huts or even make your own. Sit on the beach and enjoy the most amazing sunsets, play in the waves, throw a line out to catch some fish, or explore the massive sand dunes.

The local Cosmopolitan Club has restaurant nights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, as well as other events and activities throughout the year.  The general store across the road offers coffee, takeaways and everything else one could ask for.

The kids will love the adventure playground, skate park, and BMX track. For some family fun, why not have a game of tennis at the local court?

Himatangi Beach is great all year round. Wind, rain, sunshine; what can beat watching the waves roll in while enjoying fish and chips on the beach.

Reviews

This is a great holiday park to stay at. The facilities are very clean, it is very safe for children of all ages, there is plenty of room and the owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. Having visited a number of holiday parks, this is definitely up there with the best. Highly recommended.

Fabulous camp, lovely couple running the camp. Thanx Rueben & Alice. Us 4 recycled teenagers (gold carders) really enjoy out stay. Relaxing, clean, just wonderful. Will recommend. Not far to the beach

We have travelled across the country and have never come across a cleaner, brighter, put together holiday park than this one. Normally there are minor issues with even the best but I was hard pressed to find any. Our family travelled in bunches from 3 different directions and ALL of them were blown away with the location, the spotless facilities and how child friendly the whole place is. I really cant thank the owners enough for making my wifes birthday weekend an extra special one.
Highly recommended :)

Very friendly management. Everything is clean. Best place we stayed so far. We might come back on our way up north.
